Workshops for Parents and Grandparents

 

What is the content of your workshops?

 

Workshops are always different as we deal with the specific issues or participants. In general we cover:

  • Big picture: vision in parenting

  • Uniqueness of each child

  • Healthy self esteem

  • Boundaries, rules and limits

  • Changing yourself and the environment

Key outcomes:

  • Know what motivates children to listen

  • Understand the necessity of boundaries

  • Know how to build healthy self esteem

  • Understand your  child’s behaviour

  • Feel effective and confident in parenting

How long are the workshops?

Generally 9.00- 4.00pm but can be tailored to the needs of organizations

 

What is the cost?

The costs are as follows:

  • $220.00 per person

  • $340.00 per couple

This is for a full day workshop including morning teas and excluding lunch.

 

Where are they held?

Various locations throughout Sydney. Workshops can be arranged in country areas, interstate and overseas.

 

When are they held?

Every two or three months

Consultations

 

How do I make an appointment to see you for a consultation?

How much will it cost?

$75.00  per hour

 

What can I expect?

I will spend some time gathering relevant   history about your child and your family and listening to your issues and concerns.  From that I will make recommendations and if necessary referrals. You will leave with a deeper understanding of the cause of the behaviour, as well as  strategies for making changes and practical tips tailored for your child and your situation.

 

Do I bring my child?

This will vary according to each situation. Often it is best for the first consultation to be held without the child present.

 

How many sessions will I need?

In some cases only one.  In other cases, where Brain Gym exercises are required, you may need 4 – 6 visits.

 


Group Sessions / Coffee Mornings

 

Do you run small group sessions?

‘Coffee and Chat’ sessions with Janet are held at North Manly at various times. Arrangements can be made to hold them at your house, minimum numbers 8.

 

How much do these cost?

$20.00 per person at North Manly or if you arrange a group in your home, the host is free.

What is Brain Gym?

Brain Gym is a series of simple and enjoyable movements that we use with clients in Educational Kinesiology to enhance their experience for whole brain learning. These activities make all types of learning easier and are especially effective with academic skills.

 

Do you use any other modalities?

Yes I support my individual sessions with Australian Bush Flower Essences.

 

What are Australian Bush flowers Essences?

These flower essences are safe, powerful catalysts that bring about clarity and resolve negative beliefs. They unlock positive qualities of love, courage and joy. They assist with my work in building self esteem and integrating the brain for clarity and  focus.
