Having
Fun with Your Child
Quick Tip 1
By playing
with your child regularly every day you will decrease
undesirable behaviour. They will feel special, valued and important
in your life. This will build their self-esteem. If you give them a
few blocks of 10 -15 minutes of uninterrupted play time with
you throughout the day, they will be much happier to play
independently while you attend to other ‘jobs.’
Quick Tip 2
Have a theme day
at your house, such as a red day, an autumn day, an upside down day.
Everything has to be red: red clothes, red food, red paintings, red
drawings, red flowers, or everything has to be upside down, eat on the
floor, and have your pyjamas on, wear your T shirt inside out, wear
odd shoes, just have a fun, be silly and play with your child.
Quick Tip 3
Play music to
create a certain atmosphere, take balls outdoors
to the park and
run and play with your child. Notice how many parents at the
park are really
playing with their child.
